Search Tips

The CMEC database offers the capability to search all fields in each record.

The easiest way to locate the employment card for a specific person is by searching their full name (e.g. Edward Aho).

You can also get results that match multiple fields. For example, if you know the full name of the person and where they lived you could search on both criteria by simply typing the words you want to find (e.g. John Aho Centennial Heights). The result would return any person named John Aho that was born in or lived in Centennial Heights. In the event you really need to narrow down your search, you can try searching for a name and full street address (e.g. Paul Calice 136 Frog Street).

Sometimes a common name such as John Aho may return many different people and you will need to provide additional criteria to narrow down your search. If you know the name of the person’s children you can search that as well. For example, John Aho has a daughter named Elenor. To find John Aho’s record through Elenor you could use any of the following searches:

  • John Aho Elenor

  • Elenor Aho

Similar searches would also work for a person’s mother, father, or spouse:

  • John Aho Kate

  • Kate Aho

  • Helen Aho

  • John Aho Helen

  • John Aho Helen Aho
